The photo on the left was taken a year ago, when Isha and I picked up our tiny house trailer at Iron Eagle Trailers. Rob Manzij snapped the pic of us excited to get started on our build. The photo on the right was taken by Kristina Lynn Photography a couple months ago in front of the tiny house we built on that trailer! What a year!
Yesterday was Beltane (AKA May Day) and it marked the one year anniversary of starting the build for our new tiny house, T42. This time last year we'd situated our tiny house trailer at Green Anchors, organized our tools, ordered many of our materials, and begun our T42 Subfloor & Bottom Plates. (For more about the T42 story, check out A Tiny Announcement from Lina & Isha.)
Yesterday we commemorated this day by having a lovely dinner in our tiny home with Kyra, one of our cohousing mates from Going Places. We did a toast to a big exciting year of making home with some lovely apricot honey wine from the Mead Market. So many excuses for a toast this past year! In addition to building ourselves a tiny house we also got engaged, bought a property with one existing single-family home and room for our two tiny houses on wheels, and are Creating a New Tiny Cohousing Community!) We're counting our lucky stars and eager to see what this next revolution around the sun will bring!
We began Camping in T42 in mid-February of this year, about 10 months after we started building. (This baby took all 40 weeks and then some, so she was a little late!) Once the electrical was finished up a couple weeks later we began using our tiny house as an extension of the big house in our cohousing community. A couple weeks after that, in mid-March, Kristina of Kristina Lynn Photography came to do a photo shoot. As I've hinted at in my Niche Newsletters, Kristina is a photographer who especially loves taking photos of people in their homes and recently she's become intrigued by tiny house dwellers. So it was an awesome opportunity to have her come shoot our little house. She captured some truly fabulous shots and we're excited to share them with you!
